Adobe TV
Millions of video views, hundreds of thousands of visitors, six-thousand videos, four languages, one global framework.
When Adobe, the undisputed leader in video delivery via the web, approached us with the tall task of rebuilding Adobe TV we were more than honored.
We were charged with creating the next best-in-class global portal for video content from a requirements document 1" thick. Satisfying multiple business goals, user requests and of course the creation of a custom Content Management System was just the beginning.
After countless days and nights of design, reviews, coding, more reviews, user studies and QA, the international site launched in four languages - English, French, German and Japanese. One global framework was produced for both the Front End Website and Back End Content Management System (CMS).
Combining the power of ColdFusion 9, OSMF (Open Source Media Framework) Flash 10, Flash Media Server, Oracle i11, jQuery and Omniture, users of Adobe TV now have the ability to customize the content to their personal preference, ensuring a most rewarding self-satisfying experience, retrieve relevant and accurate search results, plus share/post to their favorite social site(s).
CMS Users have minimal time to live, including a separate QA path in which content can be previewed prior to publishing, while links to content can be accessed even before a video is produced.
"We need a better way to get this great content to our consumers" we were told during discovery. What WRECKINGBALL delivered surpassed everyone's expectations.
Time Warner Cable
Fourteen million customers, thousands of titles, hundreds of channels, dozens of markets in almost every state each with a unique channel lineup, multiple mixed data sources - and no way to get this to the consumer... 'We want to create a portal that helps our customers easily find what is available On Demand' was the directive we were given. Looking back, it is amazing at the required effort necessary to achieve the goals set forth in those simple 17 words.
Launched late in 2009, the TWondemand site is designed to bring the Video On Demand catalog to consumers with a few clicks - and it is customizable to the hundreds of lineups they serve to 14 million subscribers.
From the beginning of the online experience, consumers are presented with a featured selection of the thousands of titles available each month, including the newest content within the feature box and the trailer window. For the best user experience, it was imperative that the core pages of the site display the most popular and relevant content, broken down by category. The left navigation allows for individual network or movie service to be selected, displaying all available On Demand titles, per market.
While chock full of techy stuff, such as the Personalization of Your Homepage allowing users to only display content they find interest in or the scrolling 'pods' which allows a large amount of content to be placed within a small area, the biggest feat was the inclusion of the My On Demand feature which lets users store, retrieve and be reminded of their favorite content, similar to a playlist.
Other modules include a video player with previews for all movies, Send to a friend, newsletters, widgets and more. TWondemand.com provides the complete experience for TV buffs who want to be in the know!
The backend of the site contains custom applications that ingest and cleanse data from multiple sources, a custom Content Management System (CMS) to manage the website, lineups, networks & widgets, and a scheduled application that updates XML / RSS Feeds.
Miami City Ballet
When we received the invitation to create a new digital and social presence for Miami City Ballet we were intrigued. After meeting with Founder and Artistic Director Edward Villella, we were more than honored.
Part of that honor was being challenged with: "We need a new digital presence that our current audience can relate to but it also needs to be modern enough to keep younger generations engaged and coming back. We need to bridge the generation gap and get our younger audience more involved. The site needs to display timely information and video, allow for easy online ticket sales, tie in to social media and we want to be able to update the content ourselves so we need a CMS too."
Delivering on their challenge sporting a gorgeous clean design and improved infrastructure, the new Miami City Ballet website features an updated and easy to use navigation architecture filled with quick links to the most active content, an interactive calendar displaying all of the upcoming performances, over 2 hours of originally produced video content, complete integration with social media hubs such as You Tube, Facebook and Flickr and their new MCBlog, and detailed and visually engaging sections including the history of Mr. Villella.
Since launching, online ticket sales have dramatically increased, along with their Social Media followers and friends, and video views within You Tube and Facebook.
Thank you Miami City Ballet for this wonderful opportunity to work with you and connect with all generations. We are looking forward to the upcoming 25th anniversary and another successful year of collaboration.
Bright House Networks
"What do you want to watch?" is a familiar question heard in thousands of households daily. To help its customers answer that question, Bright House Networks launched their TV & On Demand portal - ontv.brighthouse.com.
We built a portal that ingests data for thousands of titles each month and presents them in a aesthetically pleasing manner via a custom CMS. With dedicated sections for Free, Premiums, Movies, Events, and Live TV , consumers can quickly and easily become acquainted with all the On Demand and Live TV content.
The homepage is the epicenter of the website, displaying the most current and best of On Demand titles. Top Live TV content is easily found in the Now on TV area. Consumers can also watch trailers for all movies, keep up to date with the most demanded content of the week, and can also change between two color palettes - white or blue.
